My name is Roxanne McCreery,
and I¹m president of the Association
of Briefing Program Managers (ABPM). It
was my great pleasure, on Thursday evening,
April 3, to present the
award for "Best New or Renovated Center"
to Jim Thomas, Executive Briefing Program
Manager for WilTel Communications, and the
designer of the WilTel center, Roseanne
Bell of Atkins-Bellwether.
The other finalist centers
in that category were the Apple regional
center in Soho and the Sun Microsystems
headquarters center in Menlo Park. The competition
was very stiff indeed.
The judges in our program
are extremely exacting and strict. Among
them, they have over 40 years in the briefing
profession managing mature and large programs
(Dell, Xerox and AT&T/Avaya). They were
very impressed with the elegant design elements,
use of light to convey WilTel transporting
bandwidth for its customers, extremely effective
use of leading edge technology, and focus
on contributing to the customer experience
with such exciting elements as the glass
bridge and glass elevator leading from the
Briefing Center to the Observation Room.
I¹m very pleased
to offer my congratulations to all of you
at Atkins, and especially to Roseanne Bell,
for winning the only ABPM award that recognizes
innovation and world class calibre excellence
in briefing center design.
